The (subjective) Year in Review 2010

The Year coming to an end, and how beautiful it is for a regular music blog, pulled even with Darklands balance, knowing that this is completely subjective.

my personal view of the Year in each 10 favorite albums and songs can be found below. The first time I did this last year (2009). The result you can read if you follow the link below.

IndiMichi's favorite music 2010

TOP10 albums 2010

first Feeding Fingers - Detach Me From My Head

Great melodies, Robert Smith-like vocals and very varied - The Feeding Fingers are getting better.

second Motorama - convince Alps

The Russian band Motorama with their first complete album continues, even if they come across not as dark as yet on their first EP's.

third Pink Turns Blue - Storm

A perfect post-punk / New Wave album - as if Pink Turns Blue never were different than on their first two discs.

4th I Like Trains - He Who Saw the Deep

The I Like Trains have become tamer, but the album wins scary time and is different, but official amount of not less than the previous two.

5th The Radio Dept. - Clinging To A Scheme

The I long-awaited new album of the Swedes - as expected with lots of musical gems of pure indie-pop's.

6th Zola Jesus - Stridulum II

first discovered at a second glance, but then I was cut loose from the album stool.

7th Pen Expers - Dirty Tender Love

for myself Pen Expers the best Nick Cave album recorded since Tender Pray.

8th Ikaria - Luxembourg

Ikaria shows on the album that they can do more than just write summer songs such as transmitters.

9th Perfume Genius - Learning

For me, "the" Singer / Somgwriter album of the year - intense and fragile!

10th Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - History Of Modern

The comeback album of the year one of my favorite bands of the 80s.

The Church Hill Garden - New songs, now with Cover

It is certainly only a question of time before Andy aka Jossi The Church Hill Garden presents the first complete album. In any event bubbling new songs, some with vocals, more and more frequently from his pen. Now he has also designed more appropriate to cover.

Anyone who has read the recent article on Darklands to The Church Hill Garden who knows that I think Andy Jossi for a great photographer. He has that special eye for the object and is able, the aesthetics of his Motives Colors, and geometrically to conserve in its image. - Always focused on the essentials. This is something that can not learn it. Either you have it - or you do not! Andy Jossi has it! Of this you can convince yourselves. On the one hand to the website of The Church Hill Garden , where he presented numerous photographs, the other was here at Darklands, because I've included three of the most beautiful cover this article, to give it a little shine.

But what would be the best cover without the music, which they are to give a pictorial envelope. Remains at the end again and this is the music for this blog good. In the latter month, The Church Hill Garden the instrumental The Swan published (probably not difficult to identify its cover).
had this song - as well as some older works - fit, without question, to what some Musifreunde probably the best The Cure album Disintegration. To the good Andy Jossi blame but can not just write songs (Robert Smith today would probably be happy if he would succeed in such musical gems again),
he conjures a vocal version of 1001 Wee Birds off the cuff, with the female vocals in the best Heavenly Voies meets shoegaze-style à la Cocteau Twins, comes along and taught us as a lesson, please also note the wonderful text that is certainly supported by the music in his statement intended, but also would do without this - pure poetry!

Musically I personally The Church Hill Garden do better when they deliver such great indie-pop, such as with Cecile, a song that the vocal version with Damien (from The Opera Glasses and The Cure Project) to My personal favorite is one of the ending year. This is probably because I make everything somehow in the direction The Cure is in itself ever feel as beautiful, but that is fortunately a matter of taste. For you, you must decide how the always himself.
