No More - musical heroes of my youth
Something very nice - no more very special ... and also something that makes me awesome as a real music lover through and through, still a little solidify and yet incredibly proud is it when one is addressed by the bands that have been revered as the very young.
The above situation I've ever seen twice in the last year, when I was contacted by Violent Vision and three weeks ago, when I anschrieben No More .
No More? The "No More "? Yes have exactly that which the early 80s to date in any well-stocked DJ set missing New Wave classic Suicide Commando published. Oh, what have I danced to it! The view before me lowered to the ground ... two steps forward and two Steps back ... supported by the music that is a synonym for what to me this style so unique: cool sounds - from monotony and melody, in any case with melancholy - sung by black-clad musicians that their clothes and their color is not a fashion but perceive as life.
The biography of the first years of No More reflects the lifestyle of a part of a generation back, which is not even 10 years older than mine. It all began in Kiel in the summer of 1979. Frustrated and bored by their school band form Andy Black, Tina Sanudakura and Christian Darc No More. They are recruited as bass player Thomas Welz, a school friend who has hitherto been playing an instrument. Beginning of 1980 are No More integral and important part of the Kiel scene, on the first cassette sampler NO Kiel KIEL represent, produce and distribute their first cassette releases and play their first appearance before a wider audience on a youth festival.
No More out their EP Too Late in a small laundry room next to their rehearsal room. Due to a broken intentionally made Teac 4-track, the sound is referred to by the press as archaic. how times change ... . A year later the quartet reduced to a trio, which still twice the occupation on the position of bass player moved before the end of 1986 we decided to separate. Until then recorded the music of No More thereby made to move not only to the usual genre musical paths, but always to be open to new influences. SO works is an example, even oriental elements in the songs. Therefore it's no surprise at all if the music that Andy Black and Tina Sanudakura made after the release of No More with their project Nijinsky, stylistically moving between songs, waltz and tango.
Twenty years after the separation resuscitated Andy Black and Tina Sanudakura the band No More and published 2006 Remake / Remodel a new album. Since 2008, there No More enjoy live again. It celebrates the successful duo concerts on stages in many European capitals as to sample in Warsaw, Copenhagen, Athens, Stockholm, Milan, Rome, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Munich, Berlin and Paris. Early 2010, then appeared the latest album which is called Midnight People and Lo-Life with stars. Stylistically, the Album.meiner think this time in the area indie rock is classified. It occurred while listening to the often last year's album of Philip Boa to mind. Not a bad association I think.
Who today No More Concert visits can expect good stuff. Because of their incredibly great musicians and stage experience the band in a position always good for surprises. Time they use traditional song structures, and then it looped through songs and play live extravagant covers of Velvet Underground's Waiting For The Man and the New Wave classic "Hands In The Dark". Then again, they turn old songs into noise-disco hits and get the latest songs with minimal electronica to the point. No More own comments on that as follows: "We take songs from any No More phase, as well as new songs and turn them jointly, by the time Wolf and comes out great. rhythmic noise, pop stop. "If that's not reason enough for a next opportunity to visit No More concert, which I can not help.
Anyone who would like more information about the band, which may include the Links do. There is also a free song from No More contained in a paper published in this year sampler from Peru.
